3/1

Up the spiral staircase
to the side of the hill
with sweeping grass and whispering wind
step off the wooden step
and into the cloudy sunny day
where the breeze flows by your face
and you walk along the side of the hill
until you reach a dirt path
that takes you down to the edge of a lake
and you walk along the lake
under the drooping overhanging shelter of weeping willow trees

There you meet a rabbit
who says that the stars are falling across the way
and you follow the rabbit
along a path through the trees on the edge of the forest
until you come out of the trees to the foot of a hill
and you climb the hill
as twilight has fully fallen upon the earth
and when you reach the crest of the hill
and round it to the very top
night is coming to the sky

And you sit down in the soft wavy grass
with the rabbit sitting nearby
and look out across the wide open sky
soon it has fully turned to night
a full night sky vast and deep
with bright twinkling stars spread out across the black sky

And then a star falls
streaking in beauty across the sky
and then more start falling in streams
and you stretch your legs out
as you watch the shower of stars
with the warm spring night all around

This is really good. I like how you made a beautiful image out of relatively simple and concrete words. I like the straightforwardness and transparency of the narrator.

It has excellent energy and pacing and a kind of transcendent conclusion after the dream-like wandering.

It's sort of like a dream that you get to enjoy without the abrupt cut-off before you reach what you felt was just about to happen.
